There are so many beautiful things to see and do in Algarve, that it could be difficult to stay only in one place. My recommendation is to rent a car or grab the bus to travel around the coast and discover what Algarve has to offer. Below are my top 5 favourite cities that I think are really worth a visit.
Silves

Silves is a historic medieval town surrounded by citrus trees and vineyards. This used to be the capital of the Algarve during the Moorish times. Here you can enjoy beautiful views, a hilltop castle, a cathedral and a charming old town. Read more about Silves.
Where to eat: Restaurante Marisqueira Rui and stop by for a coffee at Café DaRosa.
Ferragudo

This riverside fishing village is perhaps the most photographed town in all of Algarve and it’s easy to understand why. A maze of cute cobbled alleys lined with whitewashed buildings and colorful houses. A visit here is a must if you are looking for an authentic and traditional Algarve. Read more about Ferragudo.
